Researchers from the University of Geneva (UNIGE) had examined
data from more than 24,000 people from 50 to 96 of 14 European
countries about the relation between the economics in childhood
and health in adulthood. The study shows that this really affect to our
health and that our first years are the most important.

SCIENCE FIELD
Medicine and health

GLOSSARY
-physiological dysregulation: impairment of a physiological regulatory
mechanism
-socioeconomic:Of society and the economy jointly, or related to both.

TEXT COMMENT

Is good to know that our first years are the most important because
we can improve, or try to improve, our children’s education to be more
healthy.

They determine how malaria infection of wild birds occurs.

All living essays that transmit infectious diseases, as well as the characteristics of their habitat can have important effects on the diversity of parasites. The Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) and the Network Biomedical Research Center for Epidemiology and Public Health (Spain) have conducted studies on avian malaria infection in wild bird populations. They have done the study in 45 urban, rural locations and natural in the southwest of Andalusia, places where these pathogens most affect. For this, researchers have analyzed blood samples of 2,588 birds and 340,829 mosquito females, and studies do with male sparrows because they affect them similar to us and from there they can better study this problem.

Glossary:

The study on how malaria affects humans through research with various birds and insects, where the sparrow is a very useful bird to study this situation.

Text comment:

In my opinion this study is very important to know how to cure this disease and diseases that can be dangerous for humans, and seeing this know that the male sparrow can help me to study this I was satisfied.

They create a quantum particle that looks like a 'lightning ball'

→ Date: 5 MAR 2018

→ Scientific field: Science

→ Information source:

→ Glossary:
- Rays ball some luminous spheres that appear in storms electric and that last much longer than a normal beam.

→ Summary: The stability of the ball rays is a mystery. Our model explains its long life by describing them as electromagnetic knots. Never before has he tried to create them in a laboratory to study and explore them. Mikko Möttönen highlights the simplicity of the method to create them and their possible future applications. "If we could apply this technique to create hot plasma balls, it would be a breakthrough for nuclear fusion reactors." The spherical shape of the plasma could help its stabilization without the need to use giant magnets, "although this needs more research," explains the scientist.

→ Personal opinion:
It would be great if this could be applied to nuclear fusion reactors would be a breakthrough because it could generate power without polluting hardly anything.

The probe that will photograph the sunsets of Mars begins to work

The probe that will photograph the sunsets of Mars begins to work

→ Date: 2 MAR 2018

→ Scientific field: Science

→ Information source:

→ Summary: ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter reached the Martian orbit in October 2016, but it took a year and a half to slow down and reach its final orbit, at an altitude of 400 kilometers. From there, he will circle the planet once every two hours photographing sunsets to look for little abundant gases in the backlight. The interest of detecting trace amounts of very little gases such as methane is that they can reveal the existence of invisible processes. Methane on Earth is associated with biological activity and on Mars could be linked to the metabolism of microbes that inhabit the subsoil. But methane could also discover some kind of unexpected geological activity, just like sulfur. The new probe, which will begin its scientific mission in April, will accumulate information to the collection during decades.

→ Personal opinion:
This will cause a breakthrough for research on Mars and to try to unravel the mystery about what happened to the oceans that once bathed.

While Europe is freezing, the North Pole is experiencing a heat wave. Why?

1/2/2018

The strange phenomenon contrasts with the strong winter that several countries of the old continent live. Although it is not so unusual, it worries that it begins to appear more frequently because it would end up affecting the entire planet.

As you can see, temperatures in this part of Europe have dropped alarmingly since temperatures have reached -10 degrees in cities such as Warsaw, as well as causing quite a lot of deaths in the cold. Temperatures have risen to 7.2 degrees something that really if you see or hear it alarms a lot since that can cause melting poles and sea level augmente. Most people would say that it is due to climate change, but from a study conducted on this heat, they have realized that this heat comes from a heat wave that has reached the north pole and that it is not enough to be alarmed, even though they continue having heat waves of this type if that could cause the poles to melt.

Glossary:

Why the north pole have a very hot clime this month? this is a very big problem for the world because this provoque the melting of poles.

Text coment:

In my opinion if that pass with more frequency it will be a very big problem for all the poblation because afect all the planet the melting of poles.

Keys to the success of Kenyan athletes and the union of the oceans

19/02/2018

Jordan Santos studies the factors that explain the superiority of Kenyan athletes. Antonio Aretxabala explains the phenomenon of the seas that do not seem to mix. We explain what tensegrity is.

Kenyan marathon runners are real portents. These are usually the best speed marks.
The characteristics of his physiology are being studied to find the keys to his success, Jordán Santos is a professor and researcher of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of the University of the Basque Country. The research that has just been published has analyzed one of these physical variables that influence athletic performance: bone mineral density. These limits are artificial, a human decision. There are no borders in these large areas of water... this is a one little secret of the Kenyan athletes.

 Glossary:

Because the Kenyans are so fast normally in the world speed and general line included? A study is being done to know the exercises, the feeding ... to know what is your secret.

Text comment:

I think they are great athletes and very fast in general Kenyans, so it is good to do this study and if they can get to know why the country is so agile, and if from there we can also improve our speed marks.
